Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some common questions we get asked about our Salsa classes. If you can't find the answer to your question here please contact us and we'll provide any further help you need.

What should I wear for Salsa?

Suitable clothing is down to whatever you feel comfortable in, casual, smart its up to you.
Footwear for guys and girls is more important, we advise against soft soled shoes such as trainers, a normal day shoe with a hard smooth sole is ideal to start off with. Shoes must be firmly secured around the heel, we do not allow dancing in socks/stockings bare feet or backless shoes. We recommend all dancers at levels 2 and 3 have suitable dance shoes kept exclusively for the dance floor. Shoes will be checked to ensure they wont cause damage to flooring.

When can I join the beginners class?

Our beginner’s courses run for 6 consecutive weeks. Our approach has been developed through extensive experience of teaching absolute beginners and will ensure you have all the fundamental skills necessary to progress to our more advanced levels. Check the homepage for the dates of our next course. You can normally join the class in the first three weeks but if you join late we may ask you to come early for some catch up tuition.

Must I Book Before Coming?

You are advised to give us a call to check current offers and spaces available, spaces may be limited on occasion.

What is the age range at our classes?
We are happy to teach all age groups and have people of all ages at our classes from children to retired folks, however for younger children it is best to call us in advance to discuss relevant issues.

Do I need a partner?
You don’t need to have a partner to come to our classes in fact most people come without a regular partner, however, its always more fun when we have enough guys to take the lead role so we encourage ladies to find guys to come along. During the class you will be moved on every minute or so that everyone gets an equal opportunity to practise and learn.

Parking?

Ipswich; public car parks, opposite Portman Road football ground (2 min) which is free after 8pm and normally empty in the evening. Watch out for football matches, as these will normally require you to park elsewhere. St Nicholas St (2 min) cut through beside the Willis and Faber building. A few bays on Curriers Lane.
Sudbury; Roys Supermarket opposite, free.
Bury St Edmunds; a few places on the forecourt otherwise street parking on St Andrews St outside, free after 6pm.
